Best Websites for Homeschoolers

On the heels of my post about good websites for large families, we have a list of the best all-around sites for homeschoolers. These websites were chosen because they are updated frequently, have lots of resources (mostly free), have a personal tone about them or are generally just well-written and fun to visit! DonnaYoung.org - This is a great resource for all things printed! You can print planners, calendars, worksheets, and much more. Whenever I think, “I could use a template for...

Jim Bob Duggar Very Proud of His Two Oldest Sons

It seems silly to write such a headline, because of course he’s proud of his sons - and I’m sure he was before they helped little Maddye, but it’s nice to hear! Here’s part of an interview Mr. Duggar gave to  Examiner.com writer Isabella Zehnder: “It was quick thinking on their part. They reacted to the situation and took care of the little girl, Maddye, who wasn’t breathing. John performed CPR while Josh was on the phone with 911. They worked together to help save...

Potty Training Made Easier

I have been reluctant to write about potty training because I don’t want people to think I think I’m some kind of expert. However, a lot of people seem to have trouble with this issue and ask me how I do it so quickly, so I thought I’d throw my “method” out there. Having just successfully trained little Hogan #6 - she is 2.5 years old - I guess my very ordinary method works OK with both boys and girls. First, look for signs that your child is interested and ready. Allow...

Anna Duggar second pregnancy?

Just a note…We do not know if Anna Duggar, the daughter-in-law of Michelle and Jim-Bob Duggar is pregnant with another child. However, we do know that she breastfeeds baby MacKynzie and that getting pregnant when a baby is 3 months old is pretty unlikely - but never impossible! We’ll let you know if we hear anything! http://www.largefamiliestoday.com/2009/04/01/is-anna-duggar-pregnant/

No new 18 Kids and Counting for a while…

I was very happy to read that the Duggar family, subject of the show 18 Kids and Counting on TLC, has decided to put their show on hold until preemie Josie Duggar gets stronger. As many of you know, Michelle Duggar gave birth to Josie by C-section on Dec. 10, 2009 because of complications due to pre-eclampsia. She also suffered from gallstones, although this was not the reason for the premature birth, contrary to some Internet reports. Josie was born 3 months premature and weighed a little more than...
