WELL DONE! HEY AFZAL !!

(You, The Fellow Believer in Peace)

I love your society-related pieces. They are so profound. Your poem " The Nature of Human Beings" is an example of that. It’s really a perfect poem and again when I read poems like "To My Friend", especially this part

"Full of life's thick blood

So often pricked by you

My blood has thinned to red ink."

It inspires me! and I think Afzal !!! You are so right. We are all related through Adam but we treat each other like we are strangers, worse so enemies. Why can't we all just get along? And why we are always found in fighting like enemies as you mentioned in another superb piece "Misinterpretations" about your reasons against war! and of course we should not be prisoners to our body as you said in poem " Prisoners of The body" , which makes us human and also sinful, that is lust, greed, and all other deadly sins that are so called " human nature" .

Here, I add the idea of your wonderful poem "Satan Wins" because every day is a battle between God and Satan. Now, it is up to us whether we let Satan win or God. But because we are human, he will win the days we don't actively seek God. Appreciate your poetry, it's realistic one Afzal! Simply beautiful...it left me speechless... while you say in "Your Godliness not yet Revealed" beautifully as…

"Almighty God
far off this place you live
away from human existence
in the centuries of journey
the distance between unending
Though the closer I strive
Your Godliness yet revealed."

Amazing! You seem to be touched even by the thought of ants heart breaking .. and say, not to be hurt. Every time I kill an ant (which is very rare), I feel very guilty. After all, they are also one of God's creations as you added in poem "My Peace willing Soul". Well done! As a fellow believer in peace, I agree very strongly with your words in poem "War". Sure, war does not lead to peace, only to more war and killing. I loved the poem "Murder". To be honest, I was hoping you were talking about self-reflection because the person we should be killing ourselves...killing our own selfishness and greed and living for the benefit of everyone. After reading your perfect poem "Oh Almighty God" so what I was thinking last night! There will be some who called themselves God-followers in this life but when they reach heaven, God will say "I never knew you". They talked the talk, but they didn't walk the walk.

I love and agree with your poem " The Light of the Day". As it says in the Bible, those who are afraid of the light love darkness. This is a perfect paraphrase of that verse. Well done! Hey Afzal !! you are really a good and very heart feeling poet. Love the ideas you express…I love this tribute to the beautiful masterpiece, "Mona Lisa". This poem is a masterpiece itself.

"Hundreds of Faces" is a great work. The mirror shattered into a hundred shards in my mind as well as the broken pieces of you. Besides your thought-provoking society poems, you are also a master at romantic verse. "Voice of Face" is beautiful one. But "The Face of God" is everywhere we look. The "Spanish Eyes" deadly beautiful and "The Rose" I see.. Great metaphor work Afzal !

haha. No, we woman can not be subdued like you mentioned about your women in poem "Reverse Effect". We are the ones that rule over men...at least the ones that love us. Poem is done in a good way, raising the question with new prospective. But your respect for women rights in "Love Ends Differences" is appreciable, I wish more men would think like you. It seems that woman always been treated like we were inferior. We need more men to see us as valuable.

Sometimes it seems some of our favorite memories are washed away by the sands of time. Then other memories (the ones we'd rather forget) we intentionally erase from our thoughts but the evidence is still there like footprints in the sand. I don't know if that's where you were going with this piece " Seeking Beloved" but that's what I took from it. And you just inspired me to write something . Thank you! Here, let me dedicate one of my poems to you Afzal !

"Missing Pages"

I was a book with burnt edges
and tattered cover
opened and laid flat
for examination purposes.

You read me out loud
like all my complexities
could be contained in a few
of your stereotypical phrases.

You spelled me out as if
you could predict my actions,
but I will not conform
to your predefined binding.

When my pages did not correspond
with this self-created fantasy
of how I should read,
you violently tore them out.

And when you reached the end
of your criticisms all that was left
was the spine of a woman...
with no content.
